About MarkWork

What is MarkWork?

MarkWork brings together fine art and design, creating a 'mark' that captures and transcends the specific needs of the individual client, the site and the environment. Combining the conceptual and practical functions of building and design with the current trends of sustainability, the design process is informed by the mid 20th century, modern and contemporary design, art and living.

MarkWork specialties include:

• the application of traditional and experimental finishes onto contemporary design and wall treatments

• environmental and landscape design

• indoor architectural features

• design problem-solving

• public and private art placement

Who is MarkWork?

MarkWork is a creation of Mark Shunney. Mark settled into the Bay Area from New York City in December 2005 and opened the MarkWork studio in 2007. This operation combines Mark's fine arts education with 20 years of professional experience finishing, building and design. As a small business owner and operator, Mark is able to work closely with each client from project conception to completion.
